Guerrilla Marketing is an advertising strategy that focuses on low-cost unconventional marketing tactics that yield maximum results. The term was inspired by Guerrilla warfare which is a form of irregular warfare and relates to the small tactic strategies used by armed civilians. Many of these tactics includes ambushes, sabotage, raids and elements of surprise. Much like guerrilla warfare, guerrilla marketing uses the same sort of tactics in the marketing industry.
Guerrilla marketing campaigns are my personal favorite by being highly effective and funny in most cases. Here is my TOP 5 Guerrilla Marketing Campaigns. Enjoy!
With other 33million views on Youtube its hard to argue why Red Bulls Guerrilla marketing campaign is not number 1.
One of the most well known examples of Guerrilla marketing is the Soprano’s marketing campaign.
3. Coca Cola
Really great marketing campaign, love the idea and gives everyday people prizes. You can see how quickly it went viral in its relevant locations.
Very creative, relevant and interactive.
5. Virgin Airlines
This marketing campaign forces a sense of humour out of customers whom have just travelled on a Virgin Airline flight and plays off against customer perceptions (which i belive to be true) of our luggage being thrown about carelessly. Really helps to try and differentiate Virgin Airlines from competitors for me!
